Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is situated in the Bay of Bengal. This is one of the union territories of India and comprises of 527 islands. The coastline of the Island extends to about 100 Kms. There are dense forests all around the island. The area of the whole Island is around 8,293 sq kilometers. The Island is divided into 2 parts ie. Andaman and Nicobar. These 2 groups are a distance of 300 Km from each other. Port Blair is the capital city of the Island the land is covered with dense rain forest. 38 islands out of 527 islands are inhabited by the people. The Island of Andaman is a developing land, government is trying to spread literacy among the people.
The Island of Nicobar is still colonized by some prehistoric tribes and other backward communities. There are around 5 lakh people on this land. Around 2.5 lakh people of the land have right to vote. The place is known for its striking beauty and has high mountains, wide roads, lush green forests and extended coastline. The people who visit this beautiful island can enjoy and have lots of fun.
There are many languages which are spoken by the people on this Island. There is lots of tranquility and peace in the island as there is no mayhem or communal riots among the people of the land. The people of this land are peace loving due to which Andaman and Nicobar Islands have become a nice tourist spot. The people here are provided are given quality education and moral values. Good medical facilities are available for the people. Here the people have awareness and they are conscious of their rights. The people take pleasure as they get lots of freedom in this island. The amount of peace that prevails on this land is an unusual sight in India.
A well known fact about this island is that the many inhabitants of this place are the offspring of some of the prisoners who have been put into this place from different parts of India. There are refugees who come here from different countries like Burma, Bangladesh, and Srilanka. Here one can find the people of diverse castes and creed but the people here live peacefully and try to maintain serenity in this island. The father of nation Mahatma Gandhi had a dream to see a peaceful land which can be seen only and only in the island of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
